— Which of the artists — Ukrainian and world — did you have as an example, who for you is an authority, an example of skill? — Here the list is very long and it is constantly updated. In short. And also, although it may sound strange, (Federico) Fellini and the Coen brothers had a great influence in terms of composition and imagery.

Maksym Palenko is an artist, graphic designer, illustrator, political satirist, poet, musician, and singer. Associate Member of Cultural Hub | Independent Think Tank in Humanities.

The author of illustrations for the books “My Dad and the Green Alligator”, “Indoor Pirates”, “Rocket on Four Legs”, “Viking in My Bed”, “Harmider at School”, “My Brother’s Famous Bottom” (Jeremy Strong), “The Adventures Of The Thrice-Famous Robber Pinti” (Olexander Gavrosh), the trilogy “Jura characters” (Volodymyr Rutkivskyi), and many others.

Books with Maksym’s illustrations have repeatedly won the “Book of the Year of the BBC”, the “Litakcent” award, and the Shevchenko National Prize. In 2012, Maksym entered the top five Ukrainian illustrators according to the rating of the Robert Bosch Stiftung.
