A long-term programme of dialogues on complex topics.
Depending on the year, the results of dialogues are audio or video podcasts, illustrated essays or editorial columns, transcriptions of dialogues, short abstracts of closed meetings.
Довгострокова програма діалогів на складні теми.
Залежно від року результатами діалогів є аудіо чи відео подкасти, ілюстровані есеї або редакторські колонки, транскрипції діалогів або короткі тези закритих зустрічей.
2019-2020 роки. Перший сезон. Цього сезону ми вели діалоги про мотивацію впливу на українську креативну економіку, обговорювали, що відрізняє митця від комерсанта*, що їх об’єднує та якою мовою спілкуються між собою «люди мистецтва» та «люди бізнесу».
(*Одна з проблем полягає безпосередньо в термінології: в Україні ми помилково називаємо підприємцями лише комерційно орієнтованих людей, тоді за роки радянської окупації слово комерсант набуло негативного відтінку)
2019-2020. The first season. This season, we conducted dialogues about the motivation to influence the Ukrainian creative economy, discussed what distinguishes an artist from a commercial person*, what unites them, and what language “people of arts” and “people of business” communicate with each other.
(*One of the problems exists directly in the terminology: in Ukraine, we mistakenly call only commercially oriented people businessmen, at that time the word merchant acquired a negative connotation after the years of Soviet occupation of Ukraine)
[весна 2022—весна 2023] Другий сезон. Цей сезон «Філософського Cаду» пройшов у форматі Бомівського діалогу під час другого — повномасштабного — вторгнення російської армії на територію України.
Співведучими виступили Юлія Овчаренко, Кріс Кьолеманс та Дем’ян Ом Дяків-Славіцькі.
До діалогів долучилися європейські мислителі різних професій: історики, соціологи, філософи, письменники, видатні громадські діячі та журналісти, поети-пророки, архітектори-реконструктори зруйнованих війною міст, міжкультурні мистецтвознавці.
Ретроспективно, можна сказати, що всі ті комплексні, складні, гострі запитання, які ми — незнайомі-але-друзі — зібрали, допомогли дослідити велику тему «Україна і світ», яку можна поділити на три частини: Минуле (вплив усвідомлений), Сьогоднення (які уроки ми беремо із собою) і Майбутнє / Будуччина (відтак, що нам потрібно зробити).
[spring 2022 – spring 2023] Second season. This season of “The Philosophical Garden” took place in the format of the Bohm dialogues during the second — full-scale — invasion of the russian army on the territory of Ukraine.
Julia Ovcharenko, Chris Keulemans and Demyan Om Dyakiv-Slavitski acted as co-hosts.
European thinkers of various professions joined the dialogues: historians, sociologists, philosophers, writers, prominent public figures and journalists, poets-prophets, architects-reconstructors of war-ravaged cities, and cross-cultural art critics.
In retrospect, we can say that all the complex, difficult, acute questions that we — unfamiliar-but-friends — collected helped to explore the great topic “Ukraine and the World” and which can be divided into three parts: I Past (influence), II Present (what lessons we are taking), and III Future (what we need to do).
